Differences between Vedic & Western Astrology
Ascendant v. Sun Sign
Western (Tropical) astrology: uses the Sun sign as the indicator of an individual's personality. the Sun changes signs every 30 days.

Vedic (Sidereal) astrology: uses the Ascendant (Rising sign, Lagna, 1st house) as the indicator of an individual's personality. the Ascendant is the sign that was rising in the east at the time of your birth. the Ascendant changes every 2 hours. making it an extremely precise indicator of an individual's personality compared to western astrology.
Observable Planetary positions v. outdated calculations
Western (Tropical) astrology: About 2,000 years ago, tropical and sidereal signs were in the same position. However, due to not accounting for the precession of the equinox, tropical signs are drifting westward at a rate of one degree every 72 years. At present, western astrology is about 24 degrees away from the actual real-time positions of the constellations. causing a drastic inaccuracy in the planetary positions and in the birth chart as a whole.

Vedic (Sidereal) astrology: is the most precise, accurate system of astrology known to man, it has been used for thousands of years as a precise tool for prediction and knowledge of self. when you look at a real-time Vedic chart, then you look up in the sky, you will see the exact astronomical positions of the celestial bodies precisely in alignment with what the Vedic chart shows.
Constellations v. Sun placement
Western (Tropical) astrology: primarily uses the earth's relationship with the sun to make daily, weekly, monthly & yearly predictions which are often general, superficial fluff and are wrong more often than right.

Vedic (Sidereal) astrology: uses the entire chart, divisional charts, all the constellations, nakshatras and planetary placements in real-time to make predictions that take into account all the factors at play instead of making superficial predictions based on inaccurate calculations.

My name is Vince, but I also go by Gebo. I am a Vedic Astrologer from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have studied under many great astrologers like Kapiel Raaj, Sam Geppi, & Joni Patri to name a few. In my spare time, my head is always buried in an astrology book, or doing online astrology research. I constantly strive to learn as much as I can from this ancient science . I have learned how to use unique and precise techniques & calculations in my readings that no other astrologer provides. I have been studying astrology for 5+ years and doing it professionally for 3+ years.
